Österbyskolan is a F-9 school with approximately 425 students. We are an innovative school where collaboration with colleagues is prioritized, and our principals are present in the operations and share our everyday life. Österbyskolan is located in the center, yet close to nature, and we have a swimming pool and sports hall adjacent to the school. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

When you work as a teacher in woodworking and metalworking and as a mentor with us, you will be part of the 7-9 work team while teaching grades 3-9. We plan and develop the operations together and work to challenge and support each student so that they all have good conditions to meet the challenges and opportunities of the future. We do this in close collaboration with other educators and student health. We have a nice workshop for both woodworking and metalworking. You are responsible for purchasing and ordering materials and independently plan your lessons as you are the sole woodworking and metalworking teacher at the school. We encourage you to collaborate with the school's textile teachers around various themes that span the year.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a certified teacher with qualifications in woodworking and metalworking, or alternatively, you have a pedagogical background and a strong interest in teaching, along with good knowledge of the subject. Experience in teaching and mentorship is an advantage, as well as knowledge of the relevant machines in the workshop. You have good IT skills so that you can familiarize yourself with the systems we use daily, and if you have knowledge of Unikum and Teams, that is an extra plus.

There are some abilities we see as particularly important in our job and that we hope you recognize in yourself. Collaborating with colleagues to create the best possible conditions for our students is one such ability. Building safe and trusting relationships is another - it is an asset for you in relation to your students as well as in your relationships with colleagues and guardians.
