Police Region North is the largest region in terms of area. The region consists of the four northernmost counties in Sweden and is organized into four police areas: Jämtland, Norrbotten, Västerbotten, and Västernorrland, which together are divided into 12 local police areas. The Local Police Area of Eastern Norrbotten is part of the Norrbotten police area. Within the local police area, there are intervention and crime prevention activities, investigation groups, as well as support and service.

We are looking for someone to work as an administrator within the police service office for our support and service operations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The employees within the police authority's service office are the face of the authority and often the first contact for the public - an important point of contact. The operations are both an exercise of authority and a service function with accessibility for both external and internal service. Serving as an administrator within the police service office is a significant role in strengthening trust in police operations by having commitment, quality, and security in handling cases combined with a pleasant demeanor. As an administrator within the police service office, you will have an important role within the framework of the police's service mission. Main job responsibilities include:

  • Processing both applications and releases of passports and national ID cards
  • Receiving and registering reports from the public
  • Handling lost property
  • Receiving permits, submitting weapons, contesting parking fines, requesting public documents, and extracts from the criminal record
  • Communication with internal and external stakeholders, both through physical meetings and various communication channels, such as email and phone
  • Collaboration both internally within the police authority and externally with other authorities and community actors

Additional job responsibilities may occur as the influx of cases varies. You will primarily be based in Kalix, but other locations may temporarily be relevant for service, with Kalix as the starting point.

QUALIFICATIONS

This is an opportunity for you who have:

  • Completed upper secondary education or equivalent knowledge acquired in another way
  • Relevant work experience in service with external direct contacts in the form of personal meetings as assessed by the employer
  • Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing
  • Good ability to express yourself in English, both orally and in writing
  • Good computer skills and ease in learning new IT systems
  • Driving license B

It is meritorious if you also have:

  • At least 1 year of relevant work experience in service with external direct contacts in the form of personal meetings as assessed by the employer
  • Current experience of working in a reception or similar as assessed by the employer relevant to the position
  • Current experience of administrative tasks that the employer assesses as relevant to the position
  • Current experience of working within the Police Authority or another government agency that the employer assesses as relevant
  • Proficiency in additional languages that the employer assesses as relevant beyond Swedish and English, where you can use the language in your professional practice
  • Knowledge/skills regarding relevant police data systems such as RES, Durtvå, lost property, PÄR, etc.

Personal qualities

We are looking for someone who is social, enjoys being the authority's face to the public, and understands what employment with the Police entails. Since the work is outward-facing with daily contact with people, we place great importance on your communication skills. In this role, you will have many points of contact, and collaboration is a significant part of everyday life, which requires good teamwork skills. You are service-oriented and focused on delivering a good customer experience. As the work varies with sometimes high work pace, we believe you are a person who thrives in this environment and can maintain a flexible approach. At the same time, we see that you take responsibility for your work and can work meticulously.
