Do you want to work strategically with sustainability issues?

In an organization where quality, environment, and social responsibility are central? We are now looking for an operational auditor for the Environmental and Sustainability Unit – a role where you can directly contribute to LKAB's sustainability efforts and future development.

The most important job of the future

We want to lead the transition of our industry towards a sustainable future. Just as we want to change the world, we want to develop everyone who is with us on the journey, personally and professionally. Do you want to help shape the future of the world's mining and mineral industry?

The Environmental and Sustainability Unit works strategically with social and environmental issues and develops processes and systems that ensure LKAB's sustainability efforts yield measurable results. With us, there is a broad competence, a positive work climate, and a warm collegial atmosphere where we together solve problems and drive development forward.

Your role

As an operational auditor, you are an important part of LKAB's work to ensure that our operations and our suppliers meet requirements in quality, environment, energy, work environment, and social sustainability.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting internal audits and being the lead auditor for an audit team according to LKAB's management system, as well as external supplier audits that ensure suppliers meet requirements in quality, environment, work environment, ethics, and social sustainability, both in Sweden and internationally.
  • Acting as support for both the group's operations and subsidiaries and being a driving force in LKAB's work with continuous improvements.
  • Independently driving several processes while also having close collaboration with colleagues on joint assignments.
  • Reviewing and ensuring the quality of processes.
  • Assessing compliance with internal policies, laws, and external standards.
  • Proposing improvements to strengthen governance, regulatory compliance, and data quality.
  • Collaborating with functions such as HSE, sustainability manager, finance, and production.
  • Challenging the business on sustainability-related risks, e.g., supplier risk, CO₂ reduction, work environment, and social issues.

Travel within the local area, within Sweden, and also abroad is included in the position.

What you bring with you

We are looking for someone who is pedagogical and can easily explain complex issues in a clear and understandable way. You are responsible, structured, and enjoy working independently, while also having good collaboration skills.

The position requires that you have:

  • University or college education.
  • At least a few years of experience in internal auditing, external auditing, or another relevant review role.
  • Good knowledge of sustainability reporting (CSRD/ESRS, GRI, EU taxonomy) and standards.
  • Very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English.
  • Driver's license (B).

It is advantageous if you have:

  • Experience in auditing work, especially against ISO standards.
  • Experience in auditing suppliers or international assignments.
