At Gällivare Rescue Service, you work as an important team player in a small organization. We have a large geographical area to manage, ranging from mines to mountains and vast forested areas.

The majority of the municipality's residents live in the Gällivare urban area where our full-time station is located. In our villages, we have five rescue stations that assist us by being first on the scene and providing initial help. We handle approximately 300 alarms per year. We collaborate with our neighboring municipalities and the industrial fire brigades in the area. Job Responsibilities

As an Assistant Team Leader, you will be the supervisor for staff in both daily operations and operational tasks. You will work closely with the regular team leader in the shift team. Together, you will plan and be responsible for the daily work at the station, as well as other ongoing work within preventive and operational activities. You will independently manage your own cases/tasks, but the work also requires close collaboration with colleagues and other authorities around you. The Gällivare Rescue Service is under development, and you will therefore play a natural role in improving and developing processes, routines, and working methods in the organization. In the role of team leader, you will also have contact with Gällivare's residents, businesses, other authorities, and similar.

Qualifications

We are looking for a positive, structured, and self-driven person who has the ability to collaborate and appreciates working in a team. We place great importance on leadership qualities and that you are the right person for the team you will belong to. Qualities we value include being attentive and having the ability to create trust and a collaborative climate. You should have a few years of experience in rescue services. We expect you to have a good understanding of the law on protection against accidents and other laws and regulations that govern and affect the work of the rescue service. We assume that you have good computer skills in commonly used software and can easily express yourself in speech and writing, in order to educate your own staff and citizens in the community. As an Assistant Team Leader, you should also be able to function as a firefighter and in the role of smoke diver leader. Since the rescue service is undergoing an intensive change process and there are significant challenges in the work, we place great importance on your flexibility and willingness to change. We also see it as a positive if you have experience working in a politically governed organization. Before employment begins, a suitability test will be conducted, and you must have a passed medical examination; you need to be approved as a smoke diver according to the Swedish Work Environment Authority's regulations.

Requirements

  • Driver's license B - at least C
  • Passed treadmill test according to AFS 2007:7 (not older than 3 months) attached to the application.
  • Good swimming ability at least Gold buoy certificate attached to the application
  • SMO training with a passing grade
  • Supervision A with a passing grade
  • Management course 1 from the Civil Defense Authority (MCF formerly MSB)

Working Hours/Duration

Full-time, permanent employment. A probationary period may be applied.

Salary

Monthly salary, we apply individual salary setting – please indicate salary expectations in the application.

Start Date / Application

With your application, we would like to have a CV and a personal letter. We also want a treadmill test (not older than 3 months), a Gold buoy certificate with a passing result, and certificates for completed training SMO and Supervision A. Original documents will be provided upon request. Interviews may be conducted on an ongoing basis.
