A security guard plays a central role in maintaining safety and security in various environments. The job involves preventing and managing risks by monitoring premises, patrolling areas, and ensuring that security procedures are followed. Security guards often work closely with people and need to be able to act calmly and professionally in both everyday situations and during incidents. The work can include everything from alarm responses and access controls to reporting deviations and collaborating with the police or other authorities. You contribute every shift to creating safety and security for the customer and society at large, as your work creates a preventive shield against crime, improved fire safety, and much more. You will meet all residents of the community, and it is important that you are clear, calm, and can make thoughtful decisions.

Qualifications

In addition to the personal qualities we are looking for and describe, you need to meet basic requirements to qualify for the position:

• At least 18 years old before starting the assignment
• High school diploma
• Good Swedish in speech and writing
• Driver's license B

You also need to be unpunished*, drug-free, have a stable economy, and good health and fitness to be employed by Avarn Security.

Security guard training is meritorious for these positions. Other meritorious qualifications include experience in the security industry, certain technical knowledge, additional language skills beyond Swedish and English, and previous experience working in public environments.

If you have the right profile for Avarn and proceed in the process but do not already have the required training (VU1, VU2), we will cover your training! Security guard training (VU1, 9 days) is conducted at BYA, the Security Industry's Occupational and Work Environment Committee. Participation in this is a prerequisite for employment.
