The Investigation Section in the Norrbotten Police Area is organized into investigation groups focusing on serious and organized crime, particularly vulnerable victims and criminal economics, as well as groups for surveillance, and on-call preliminary investigation leaders and crime coordination.
Investigation Group 2 primarily conducts investigative and surveillance work within the framework of preliminary investigations concerning murder, attempted murder, serious drug offenses, or other serious crimes. They often have connections to serious organized crime. The group is responsible for the search for missing persons after completed rescue searches, as well as other ongoing cases within the Investigation Section based on needs and priorities. Investigation Group 2, serious and organized crime consists of investigators, preliminary investigation leaders, investigation leaders, economists, operational analysts, and group leaders.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The assignment is to handle and investigate serious crimes within the police area by planning and conducting interviews and other investigative measures. You will work both independently and in a group. The investigative work is conducted systematically, quality-assured, and with good legal security based on the principles outlined in the police's methodological support for investigating serious crimes (PUG). Investigators in Investigation Group 2 are expected to be able to operationally lead an investigation by distributing and following up on tasks performed by other staff and providing support and background for decision-making for the preliminary investigation leader. Investigation Group 2 in Norrbotten is part of Region North's overall capability and is expected to be able to fill key functions in a PUG organization.
Collaboration within the group, section, and with local police area investigation groups as well as other operations within the police is a success factor for the assignment. Travel within the county and at certain times also within the region occurs, as well as nationally if needed, during limited periods.

QUALIFICATIONS
This is an opportunity for you who have:
- Police officer according to the Ordinance (2014:1105) on training for police officers
- Experience in investigation deemed relevant for the function
- Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish
We also see it as meritorious if you have:
- Experience in handling and investigating serious crimes
- Experience and familiarity with managing and structuring large amounts of information
- Completed national training for investigating serious violent crimes, SMUG, basic training PUG, or have equivalent competence or experience working in a qualified criminal investigation operation
- Worked with secret coercive measures
Personal qualities
The role places high demands on integrity as the group and partners use secret coercive measures. The work involves both interviews and analysis and registration, which is why accuracy and systematic thinking as well as endurance over time are important. To fit into the role, you are self-driven and have the ability to take initiative and see the opportunities in the cases you handle. You have very good collaboration skills, are meticulous, and want to contribute to developing both methods and the workgroup. You also need to be flexible and resilient to stress and be able to handle multiple issues simultaneously. Your attitude towards the tasks, the group, and collaboration partners is unpretentious and learning-oriented.
