The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS Youth Home Johannisberg operates in Kalix and Boden (unit Sävastgården).
Job Description
Do you want to help create a vital difference for vulnerable people? Then the job as an operational leader is a meaningful opportunity. In the role of operational leader, you are responsible for institution-wide coordination and management of ongoing work outside office hours, in the evenings and nights, to promote a safe care and work environment. You guide and support your colleagues in their work and ensure that the work is conducted legally and in accordance with applicable governing documents, methods, and set goals. Specifically, this includes being responsible for incident management during alarm situations and taking necessary actions after an incident occurs. The role also includes planning special visitation interventions, planning and implementing decisions regarding individual care, transfers between departments, and managing constellation risks in daily operations. You communicate noted deficiencies and deviations from routines to relevant managers.
Other tasks included in the role are, for example, responsibility for establishing authority cards, letter review, and if necessary, taking actions, conducting planning and risk assessments for transport and outdoor activities, and during on-call hours, when the safety coordinator is not present, establishing safety assessments and being responsible for placement reception. The operational leader is also responsible for coordinating operations during admissions and visits. Training initiatives for staff in the areas of safety and conflict management may be included in the position.
The working hours are scheduled according to a rolling schedule of days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
Qualifications
To thrive and succeed in the role, we believe you are a stable person who remains calm even in stressful situations. You have the willingness and ability to act based on applicable decisions, guidelines, and policies. You have a holistic view and act in the best interest of the organization. Furthermore, you are structured in your work and have a good ability to plan and prioritize effectively.
You should also have:
- Relevant higher education such as a social worker, behavioral scientist, or other equivalent higher education that the employer deems relevant, alternatively a two-year vocational higher education (treatment pedagogue) along with experience of working within SiS or similar operations.
- Several years of experience working within SiS or another organization focused on care, treatment, and safety, such as social services, care and treatment, correctional services, or other relevant fields.
- Good ability to lead, prioritize, and coordinate a work group.
- Driver's license B

The positions are temporary full-time contracts during the period of June - August. Start date by agreement.
Work location Kalix but travel in the service to our unit in Sävast (Boden) may occur.
