For a Living Kiruna
One thing is certain. With us, you make a difference. We are Kiruna, we often say. We are the healthcare staff holding grandma's hand and the teacher helping little brother read his first words. We are the childcare worker helping someone grow every day and the social worker doing what it takes to change lives. We are the personal assistant providing freedom and the librarian bringing literature close. We are the home support staff driving to the villages in snowstorms like the midnight sun to be there. We are hundreds of competencies, thousands of people, and generations of experience working together to ensure, care for, inspire, teach, save lives, think innovatively, move cities, support each other, and take care of people. With pride and consideration. From mountains to city. Today and tomorrow for a living Kiruna. There is something beautiful in that. Do you also want to work for life, humanity, and the future in Kiruna Municipality? Do you want to create value and make a real difference for what is important?
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
At the rescue service in Kiruna, all staff work with both preventive and operational tasks. As an incident commander/fire engineer, you should be able to function in various management roles during emergency services, conduct inspections according to the Act on Protection Against Accidents (LSO) and the Act on Flammable and Explosive Goods (LBE). You will also conduct risk assessments, create action plans, handle referrals, provide fire technical advice, and perform other tasks relevant to the position. The job also includes the ability to conduct training both internally and externally.
You are expected to work independently on your own cases, but the work also requires close collaboration with colleagues, the public, and other cooperating authorities. We have a well-developed collaboration with other rescue services in the Rescue Cooperation North with a joint Rescue Center in Luleå. Together with other members of the Rescue Cooperation North, we staff several different joint management functions based at the Rescue Center in Luleå. We also have developed cooperation with our neighbors in Norway and Finland. The rescue service in Kiruna Municipality is under development with many exciting challenges and a city transformation, which means that improving and developing processes, routines, and working methods will be a natural part of your work. In the role of incident commander/fire engineer, you will have daily contact with Kiruna's residents, businesses, other authorities, and similar.
QUALIFICATIONS
We see that you are a fire engineer with advanced training in rescue services for fire engineers or have a rescue leader training from MSB/Rescue Agency and/or experience that the employer deems equivalent. A B driver's license is a requirement.
Experience from work within the rescue service and leadership is meritorious. Previous work with inspections or fire protection design according to LSO/LBE is also meritorious. We would like you to have a good understanding of the Act on Protection Against Accidents and other laws and regulations that govern and affect the work of the rescue service. We expect you to have good computer skills in commonly used software and express yourself well in speech and writing.
We are looking for a positive, structured, and self-driven person who has the ability to collaborate and appreciates working in a team. We place great importance on leadership qualities and that you are the right person for the team you will belong to. Qualities we value are that you are attentive and have the ability to create good trust and a collaborative climate. Kiruna Municipality's core values of respect, responsibility, and cooperation are a natural part of your leadership.
As the rescue service is undergoing an intensive change process and there are significant challenges in the work with Kiruna's city transformation, we place great importance on your flexibility and willingness to change. We also see it as positive if you have experience working in a politically governed organization. The position is classified in a security class.
A B driver's license is a requirement.
Interviews may be conducted continuously during the recruitment process.
