Description

The Adult Education is part of the Competence Center, where we work together with education, labor market, and integration issues.

We educate students in both Swedish for immigrants and municipal adult education at basic and upper secondary levels. We also offer vocational and apprenticeship training in collaboration with the Gothenburg Region and provide validation within our vocational training. In adult education, we work closely in teams, and this position means that you will primarily belong to the team for upper secondary and basic courses, but you will also collaborate with colleagues from other units. We are looking for someone who is inspired to work in a team with others and who wants to be involved in shaping the work at the Competence Center Kungälv.

Responsibilities

As a teacher in Adult Education, you and your colleagues share a common responsibility for all our students. You are used to working together in teams and see the benefit of collaborative development work around pedagogical issues. We use Office 365 (Sharepoint/Teams) as our learning platform and Edlevo as our student system. We prefer applicants who have experience with these or similar systems and are very comfortable with digital work. We also use cameras in the classroom to enhance learning opportunities for students who cannot physically attend a lesson. In addition to our regular weekly team meetings, we have set aside two hours every other Wednesday, where teams collegially engage in school development with a focus on pedagogical learning.

This position includes classroom teaching in social studies for students studying for upper secondary eligibility as well as for our nursing assistant students who study social studies for their protected professional title. We offer religion as hybrid teaching to provide students in our local area the opportunity to follow the lesson digitally and live in Kungälv from their home classrooms alongside students on site.

Qualifications

• You have a teaching license and professional experience.
• You have worked with adult education at the upper secondary level. In this role, you will teach upper secondary courses in the subject areas of social studies and another subject, with a primary preference for religion.
• Experience working with students with Swedish as a second language is meritorious.
• Hybrid teaching is part of our digital development work at the school. Therefore, we wish for you to be familiar with the technology and comfortable teaching digitally.
