Special Education Teacher in Mathematics at Tunaholmsskolan

Tunaholmsskolan is a multicultural school for grades 7-9, centrally located in Mariestad. Approximately 340 students study at the school, and 45 staff members work in four different teams around the students. By stimulating, supporting, and challenging students in daily work, we develop trust in their own abilities. We are now looking for an engaged special education teacher in mathematics starting in the autumn of 2026 who wants to help create the best conditions for our students' knowledge development. If you enjoy teamwork and are genuinely interested in creating good learning conditions with the student's needs at the center, we hope to have the opportunity to work together with you! RESPONSIBILITIES

You will place the student's best interests at the center from a social and pedagogical perspective and conduct and develop your work based on scientific and proven pedagogical experience, both independently and collaboratively. As a special education teacher in mathematics, your duties include:

• Teaching in smaller groups with a focus on strategies and tools that strengthen students' mathematics learning. Collaboration primarily occurs with mathematics teachers, the student health team, and school management.
• Analyzing and removing obstacles in various learning environments and developing work with support measures and extra adaptations.
• Observing teaching and student groups as needed, in close consultation with the student health team.
• Participating in assessments and targeted interventions as needed, as well as being involved in the follow-up and analysis of students' knowledge development.
• Supporting teachers through guidance, tools, and structures to meet different students' needs in mathematics education.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a teaching license and qualifications for teaching mathematics for grades 7-9.
• Is an educated special education teacher with a focus on mathematics or a teacher with ongoing special education training. You who are a licensed mathematics teacher and have other documented competencies and experiences that the employer assesses as equivalent and relevant may also be of interest for the position.
• Has a clear, relational, and structured leadership that creates an accessible learning environment. Your focus is on holistic solutions and a relational and inclusive approach in teaching.
• Has good collaboration skills, flexibility, and a solution-focused approach, and sees documentation, follow-up, and student-supporting measures as a natural part of quality work.
• You also have good competence in Office 365.
