Instructors Wanted for the Most Meaningful Summer Assignment – Botkyrka

Apply for the most rewarding summer job, "Ready Set Act" is a summer project where young adults (15–19 years) get to experience working as actors during the summer break. We are now looking for dedicated instructors for this year's edition in Botkyrka!

As an instructor, you will lead a group of about 10 summer interns in rehearsing, marketing, and performing a children's show – outdoors – for preschools and families. Your mission is to create a safe, fun, and meaningful workplace where young people can grow, dare, and participate.

This is not a typical theater job.

Many participants have never been on stage – some have never even been on time for a job before. Your role is to create structure, safety, and a calm working environment in a group with mixed engagement, diverse backgrounds, and sometimes challenging circumstances.

The focus is not on the outcome – but on the participants showing up, daring to try, and growing as individuals.

This requires leadership, patience, and the ability to remain calm even when the storm rages.

The project is run by Teater Carpa, which has been conducting cultural projects across Sweden since 2012. We use theater as a tool for personal development, community, and social engagement.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is confident in leading a group with mixed engagement in theater
• Has a warm, clear, and attentive leadership style
• Understands that what matters is not how it turns out, but how we do it together
• Wants to create a functioning workplace for young people at the start of their working lives
• Is flexible, self-driven, and sees each individual

All activities take place outdoors, so you need to enjoy working in summer weather – whether it’s sunny or rainy.

Requirements:

• Experience in theater activities in some form

Preferred experiences:

• Work at SIS homes
• Knowledge of/experience with NPF
• SFI or language teaching
• Camp activities
• Leisure leader, tour guide, or similar
• Experience in service or retail
• Work with children, youth, or adult groups

About the position:

Period: Week 25–27

Location: Botkyrka Municipality

Extent: Part-time, daytime

The work is carried out in collaboration with the municipality and led by you with support from Teater Carpa.
