Kooperativet Hand i Hand is a member-driven organization established in 1995 for individuals entitled to assistance. Our members are located in Skåne, Halland, southern Småland, Västra Götaland, Stockholm, and Jämtland. We have offices in Halmstad, Hässleholm, and Malmö. We support our members with everything from applying for hours with Försäkringskassan/the municipality to personnel issues concerning personal assistants. We believe that the work of a personal assistant is one of the most important jobs there is, as it provides an opportunity for another person to live their life like everyone else.

Are you calm, attentive, and enjoy video games? We are now looking for substitutes - with the possibility of a monthly contract - for a 15-year-old boy with a muscle disease that affects his mobility.

He is a social and smart teenager who enjoys playing video games, hanging out with friends, and living as normal a teenage life as possible. Your task is to provide support in his daily life so he can do just that.

Job Responsibilities

As a personal assistant, you will help him with:

• Hygiene and personal care
• Transfers and some training
• Practical support in daily life
• Assistance during gaming (for example, pressing buttons)

Since his voice is weak, it is important that you understand Swedish very well and are attentive to nuances in communication.

We are looking for someone who

• Is calm, secure, and patient
• Is good at reading others and adapting
• Has an interest in video or computer games
• Is smoke-free
• Takes into account that the boy is allergic to dogs
• Has a driver's license (requirement)
• Speaks and understands Swedish fluently

Previous experience in assistance is an advantage, but the most important thing is that the chemistry is right and that you fit into the team around him.

About the position

You will work as a substitute, with the possibility to step in as needed - for example, during illness, leave, or extra shifts. You will receive thorough training and shadow experienced staff until you feel secure in the role.
