Summer Jobs for Youth in Vindeln Municipality

Are you interested in working during the summer break? Perhaps trying your first job? Now you, who are in grade 8 or 9, can work in some of Vindeln Municipality's operations for three consecutive weeks during the summer.

ABOUT THE SUMMER JOB

If you have a summer job, you do not replace regular staff, but you are here to gain insight into what it is like to work with us. The purpose is for you to gain work experience and try out what it is like to work in our operations. Perhaps you will be inspired for a future career choice.

You will work during the day for about 6 hours per day over a continuous period of 3 weeks. There are two different periods to apply for (week 25-27 and week 31-33). You will have a supervisor on site who is responsible for you.

Our summer jobs are available in various operations

We believe there should be something that interests you. In the summer of 2026, we offer summer jobs at the following locations:

• Daily activities within LSS (Älvan)
• Resource activities (Retrå)
• Cleaning and laundry in elderly care (Älvbacken)
• Day activities for the elderly (Bäckstugan)
• Preschools in Vindeln Municipality (Växthuset, Klövern, Galaxen, Tvärålund, Hällnäs)
• Älvbrinken's leisure
• Leisure unit
• Municipal office

SUMMER SCHOOL

We also offer you who are in summer school to apply for this as a summer job. This means that you attend two weeks of summer school and get paid as if you had a regular summer job. Please note that this is only two weeks, unlike regular summer jobs which are three weeks.

This year we can offer six young people to attend summer school as a summer job. If we receive more applications than there are places, we will draw lots for the spots.

UNGDRIVE

The Youth up North project offers two spots for UngDrive Academy Norr. It is a program that educates young people in entrepreneurship and helps them run a summer business. Here you will be your own boss for the summer, and the money you make in profit you get to keep. If you are interested in this, you can apply for a spot via the UngDrive website (https://ungdrive.se/ansok/ (https://ungdrive.se/ansok/)). UngDrive will then conduct interviews and admissions.

No summer salary is provided for those working within UngDrive, as it takes place outside the municipality's management.

ABOUT YOU

The summer jobs are aimed at you who are in grade 8 or 9 when you apply. This summer, priority will be given to young people in grade 9, but even if you are in grade 8, you may get a job depending on availability.

Vindeln Municipality has a vision called "Many small villages make a living community - together we are Vindeln". We think it is important to emphasize the word together, as in our workplaces it is often required that we do things together. And when we collaborate with others, the results are often better. Everyone is needed, and everyone can contribute something, including you as a summer worker.

We hope that you are interested and motivated to learn new things and that you want to contribute your skills and abilities. We believe that you have a desire to do a good job, and the rest you will learn on site.

REQUIREMENTS

• You are in grade 8 or 9 when you apply for the job
• You are registered in Vindeln Municipality
• If you are interested in working in childcare, you need to apply for a criminal record extract from the police before you can start working. HOW IT WORKS

When you apply, you will choose which areas you are most interested in. You will also describe if you have any special needs or if there is anything else we need to know about you. Once the application period has ended, we will try to match you with a suitable position.

Before your first day, you will receive the information you need to feel secure about where you should be, what you can expect, and what you need to bring (e.g., lunch, comfortable clothes and shoes, etc.). We want to give you a secure entry into working life, and this is a great opportunity to try out what it is like to work in our workplaces.
