The student health service in preschool and primary school works in teams consisting of school nurses, school counselors, school psychologists, the school's special educator, and the principal. We work based on the intentions of the Education Act. The student health service primarily works in a health-promoting and preventive manner, at the individual, group, and organizational levels, to support students towards the goals of education.

We are now looking for someone who is secure, attentive, and ready to make a real difference in the role of school counselor.

Your responsibilities

In your role as a school counselor, you will work to promote students' physical and mental health in the school environment in collaboration with the school's student health team, staff, students, and guardians. You will work according to established directives and governing documents. You will participate in health-promoting, preventive, and remedial work at both the individual, group, and organizational levels from a psychosocial perspective.

About you

As a person, you have a good ability to work independently and enjoy administering and taking responsibility for your tasks. You need to have good self-leadership and flexibility since the school's mission is multifaceted. You need to be able to create a good collaborative climate as you will collaborate in a team with other professionals and with other authorities. You have a strong commitment to the health of children and young people. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Requirements:

• Degree in Social Work
• Fluent knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing, as well as basic knowledge of English
• Valid extract from the criminal record, due to the suitability control law
• Driver's license, as travel within the municipality is included in the position

Meritorious:

• Experience working in schools or with tasks deemed equivalent
• Experience in motivational interviewing (MI)
