We are now looking for a dedicated subject teacher in Wood & Metal Craft and Technology for Björnaskolan grades 3-9.

Job Responsibilities

You will teach Wood & Metal Craft and Technology at Björnaskolan grades 3-9. In your role, you will be part of the team for grades 7-9, where we work closely together to develop teaching, plan, and follow up with the curriculum and the municipality's goals as a guideline.

You will also have the opportunity to take on responsibilities based on your competence, interests, and the school's needs – we value initiative and new ideas.

Björnaskolan is currently undergoing an exciting renovation – something that gives you as a new employee a unique opportunity to influence the school's future. You will have the chance to contribute ideas on how our new Wood/Metal Craft room and other teaching environments should be designed to best support modern teaching and student learning.

As a newly hired teacher in Örnsköldsvik Municipality, you will receive an introductory program during your first year. You will be assigned a mentor – an experienced colleague with the same subject qualifications – who will guide you and provide support in your professional role.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a qualified primary school teacher with authorization to teach wood and metal craft as well as technology.

You have a secure and clear leadership style in the classroom and meet students with respect and a low-affect approach. You enjoy collaborating – both in the team and in dialogue with students' guardians. We would like you to be part of a collegial context where we support, inspire, and develop each other.

A driver's license (category B) is an advantage as the school is located about 40 km from the central town.
