Librarian at Universitetsholmens Gymnasium

Universitetsholmens Gymnasium is seeking a librarian for a temporary position from April 20, 2026, to May 31, 2027. Here, you will be part of a school where professional pride, quality, and students' pathways into working life are at the center.

Responsibilities

As a librarian, you will work on the development of the school's ICT-promoting activities. You will support staff and students in this development by:

• Developing and updating the library's website
• Being responsible for creating and updating search guides
• Planning and conducting progression-oriented information search and source criticism education in collaboration with teaching staff
• Guiding teachers and other staff in the use of digital information sources
• Conducting book talks
• Continuously developing physical and digital literature dissemination functions
• Working at the information desk
• Media work such as purchasing, cataloging, weeding, and signage

As a librarian, you work for lifelong learning and thereby a positive development for students; an interest in literature and culture is therefore important. You will be part of a team with other librarians, library assistants, and other staff.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• A bachelor's degree (180 higher education credits), of which 90 credits in the main subject of library and information science
• Experience working with youth
• Good digital competence
• Very good Swedish in speech and writing.

It is meritorious if you have:

• Pedagogical education or similar
• Experience working in a school library.

As a person, you are communicative, service-oriented, and creative as you daily encounter new questions and information problems in conversations with visitors. You meet visitors attentively and accommodatingly, and to be able to break down information problems into different parts and see connections, it is necessary that you are analytical. The work includes collecting and structuring various media, which requires you to be organized and able to effectively prioritize activities. You value differences and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect oneself and others.
