Nurse for the Surgical Outpatient Clinic, Lindesberg Hospital
Job ResponsibilitiesAt the surgical outpatient clinic, we mainly have patients undergoing bariatric surgery, patients with gallbladder issues, minor skin surgeries, and gastroscopy examinations. As a nurse, you will primarily meet patients after bariatric surgery, where you are part of the obesity team that follows up and supports these patients in their post-operative life. As part of the team, you will work closely with other nurses, nursing assistants, doctors, dietitians, and surgical planning at the clinic, and collaborate with the paramedical unit at the hospital, which includes social workers and physiotherapists. Collaborating with other professionals and categories is essential for providing care around these patients.
The work consists of both conversations and practical tasks such as assisting in gastroscopy examinations, PICC line changes, administering various injections/infusions, and assisting with minor surgeries with doctors. Administrative tasks such as planning/bookings of patients are also included in the job.
The job responsibilities include development and improvement work. The area around gastroscopies has developed in recent years with patient-controlled sedation, which means that the patient can control their sedation during the gastroscopy examination. The bariatric care is also in constant development, and we hope you have an interest in development work and keeping updated on the latest in the field to drive the operations forward. This optimizes care for our patients, and we believe that professional development is an important part of the job.
