We are looking for someone who wants to become an anesthesia nurse. As a registered nurse with us in the anesthesia department, you will have a unique opportunity to prepare for specialist training in anesthesia care. You will receive an introduction in the form of lectures and training at KTC, as well as the opportunity to work in a team with anesthesia and surgical staff.

The anesthesia and intensive care department operates at the region's three hospitals: Örebro University Hospital, Karlskoga Hospital, and Lindesberg Hospital. It is a large department with approximately 400 employees. Our areas of work include anesthesia, intensive care, surgical services (postoperative and day surgery), and a neuro-intermediate unit. At Karlskoga Hospital, there is an anesthesia department, an intensive care unit, and a postoperative unit.

Örebro University Hospital (USÖ) is one of the region's three acute hospitals where we provide advanced healthcare, research, and education. Both in 2020 and 2019, USÖ received the prestigious award for Best University Hospital from Dagens Medicin. USÖ won the most significant category for medical quality, had the best results in the categories of accessibility, economy, and avoiding pressure ulcers and overcrowding. As a registered nurse with us, you will work in a team with anesthesia and surgical staff. You are an important part of the work around the patient in consultation with the anesthesia nurse and anesthesiologist.

You will assist in anesthesia induction and awakening, as well as participate in the preparation of medications and other equipment needed for anesthesia.

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse and intend to apply for specialist training in anesthesia care within a year or as soon as possible. In addition to a nursing degree of 180 higher education credits, you need to have additional higher education credits to increase your chances of being admitted to specialist training.

You have at least two years of experience as a nurse and have thereby built up a solid professional experience. We place great emphasis on your personal competence and personal qualities. This means that you:

• are responsible and structured and have a good ability to prioritize
• treat patients, relatives, colleagues, and students with care and respect
• enjoy working in a team in a changing pace and can adapt when the operations can change quickly
• are flexible and stress-resistant and have experience working in pressured situations
• have a clear patient focus, show empathy, and work with patient safety and quality in focus.

Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis.
