School Nurse at Rudbecksgymnasiet and Tullängsgymnasiet

About the Position
The position is based at both Rudbecksgymnasiet and Tullängsgymnasiet. You will split your time between these schools and occasionally travel between them, which is not a problem as they are within cycling distance of each other. You will have the principal at Rudbecksgymnasiet as your supervisor, but your time will be allocated at both schools. Together with the other school nurses at the schools, you will be part of our collective student health team. The work as a school nurse is primarily health-promoting and preventive. You will conduct health visits, health conversations, assess and prescribe vaccinations in the national vaccination program, reception work, documentation, and administration. You will be responsible for open reception with counseling, medical assessments, perform minor healthcare interventions, organize and conduct school doctor appointments. You will collaborate closely with the rest of the student health team and other school staff around our students and contribute medical expertise to the school's health-promoting and preventive work at the individual, group, and organizational levels.
The principal is your immediate supervisor. You will also be part of a professional network with other school nurses in the municipality, with regular meetings for quality development and support in your work.
Examples of Responsibilities:
- work with health-promoting and preventive health efforts
- be responsible for documentation according to health and medical care laws as well as patient data laws
- be responsible for offering and administering vaccinations according to the national vaccination program and be able to take action in case of vaccination side effects
- contribute medical and public health expertise in child and student health work
- together with school management, student health team, and other school staff, work for a good physical and psychosocial working environment for students and support students' development towards educational goals
- initiate and participate in development and quality work within the area of operations
- be familiar with and follow the applicable laws, policies, and procedures of the organization
About the Workplace
Rudbecksgymnasiet is one of Örebro Municipality's four high schools. The school is centrally located with about 1400 students and approximately 130 staff, where we prepare and equip our students for the future by making studies varied and grounded in reality. Rudbecksgymnasiet offers both university and vocational preparatory programs: the Economic Program, Sales and Service Program, International Baccalaureate, Natural Science Program, Social Science Program, and Health and Social Care Program. The school also has the National Gymnasium for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing with both university and vocational preparatory programs. We are a school that has cross-program projects where all programs participate, as well as active work around safety-creating activities. The school has a well-established support organization for students in need of support. We see the benefits of working in teams and view each program as part of a whole. The school has a subject organization that teachers are part of, where professional development and subject development occur. Tullängsgymnasiet is a modern technical high school in the south of Örebro that has a high attraction value for young people. We offer a range of vocational training programs in Construction and Civil Engineering, HVAC and Property Management, Vehicle and Transport, Electrical and Energy Programs, and Industrial Technology Programs. We also have the university preparatory Technology Program. The school also has a National Gymnasium for students with deafness, hearing impairment, or language disorders, as well as an Adapted High School. Tullängsgymnasiet has about 1200 students and approximately 200 employees.

Qualifications
The work requires that you have good oral and written skills in Swedish and good computer skills. As a person, you are aware and have good self-insight. You work well with others but can also take significant responsibility on your own and manage your own work. You can organize your own work, plan, and have good structure while being flexible in your working methods. As a person, you are also a good listener and have a good ability to build relationships with students, showing consideration and trust.

Requirements:
- licensed nurse with specialized nursing education in health and medical care for children and adolescents, open health and medical care, or specialized nursing program - school nurse
Desirable:
- experience working as a school nurse
- knowledge of sign language
- experience working in journal systems (Prorenata or similar)
