As a rehabilitation assistant with us, you will work closely in a team with our occupational therapists.

About the position

Welcome to apply for a temporary position in the municipality's home healthcare, health and medical care unit (HSE), and Tullhuset!

Örebro municipality has five home healthcare areas (Southeast, Northeast, Northwest, West, and Östernärke) as well as a separate Health and Medical Care Unit (HSE) that works with residents who have personal assistance, live in group or service housing, and/or attend daily activities based on LSS decisions. The providers are either within municipal or private management. Tullhuset is a short-term unit where we conduct assessments and rehabilitation.

We are looking for someone who is currently in their fourth or fifth semester of the Occupational Therapy program. As a rehabilitation assistant with us, you will be offered an exciting and developing job. All three units provide opportunities for close collegial support. The home healthcare areas are divided based on geographical areas while the HSE unit has assignments throughout Örebro municipality.

Examples of job responsibilities:

  • participate in daily check-ins according to local routines
  • receive calls and inquiries to the occupational therapist via phone, voicemail, functional mailbox, and postbox
  • perform delegated health and medical care in the form of activity training, functional training, and training in the use of aids with patients
  • assist the occupational therapist in scheduling/rescheduling home visits/meetings
  • assist the occupational therapist during home visits when there is a need for double staffing
  • pick up deliveries of aids and inventory existing aids in the unit's aid storage
  • distribute/exchange aids that do not require testing and collect aid returns from patients' homes

About the workplace

Home Healthcare West is based in a shared location centrally located in western Örebro. Our unit consists of over 40 employees, of which about 15 are occupational therapists. Our catchment area includes both urban and rural settings, in a varied and pleasant area. We travel to our patients by both bike and car.

Home Healthcare Northeast and parts of Northwest are based in Hälsokvarteret Wadköping, located above Skebäck Health Center. We in home healthcare collaborate with other services such as several home care groups, the evening organization for nurses at Säbo, and night nurses. The new workplace is designed with activity-based areas that promote collaboration, well-being, and a modern way of working. In Hsv Northeast and Northwest, there are currently 12 occupational therapists, several nurses, and nursing assistants.

Two areas, Vivalla-Lundby and Axberg, which belong to Hsv Northwest, remain in their existing premises. Those working there include a total of 6 occupational therapists, as well as nurses and nursing assistants.

Our catchment area includes urban and rural settings where we both walk, bike, and drive to our patients.

Home Healthcare Southeast is based in Ladugårdsängen (Ängen). There are good opportunities for collaboration and collegial support as our unit consists of about 35 employees, of which 14 are occupational therapists. Our catchment area is varied with both urban and rural settings. We travel by both bike and car.

The HSE unit is based in a shared location in Vasastan in Örebro. The catchment area is the entire Örebro municipality, and we travel by bike or car. The unit consists of about 35 employees (occupational therapists, nurses, nursing assistants, operational support, and unit managers). Eight of these are occupational therapists.

At Tullhuset, you will work with a wide variety of patients, which leads to a very educational job for you who have the willingness and interest! We work across boundaries together with Region Örebro County, so our occupational therapists have close collaboration with physiotherapists from the geriatric department.

Requirements:

  • completed at least semester 4 of the Occupational Therapy program
  • driver's license B manual transmission
  • ability to bike
  • good computer skills
  • ability to express yourself in Swedish both verbally and in writing

Meritorious:

  • previous experience in municipal health and medical care
  • experience with individuals receiving support under LSS
  • knowledge and experience with the operational systems Lifecare HSL

Scope and start date

Employment type: temporary

Employment rate: 100%

Start date: June 15 - August 9 or by agreement
