Job Description

As a senior lawyer within the unit for foreign direct investments (UDI), you will have an advisory role for the entire unit and contribute to legal quality assurance in the operations. You will provide qualified legal support in an operational environment where law and security policy often intersect, and where the ability to make independent and well-founded legal assessments under time pressure is central.

The work involves preparing legal issues, conducting legal investigations, and producing legal analyses, as well as conveying your assessments in a clear, structured, and understandable manner. You will actively participate in the operational work of UDI unit's cases. You will also contribute to the development of methods and working practices within your area. The role spans a wide range of competencies and offers opportunities for deepening in many different legal issues that arise in the unit.

Qualifications

  • Law degree or equivalent legal qualification
  • Current, relevant, and several years of experience in qualified legal work in one or more areas of administrative law, public law, EU law, corporate or contract law, security protection law, information security, or other areas relevant to the UDI law
  • Current, relevant, and several years of experience from government agencies, law firms, consulting firms, or other experience deemed equivalent by the employer
  • Experience of government authority, e.g., through work in an administrative authority, supervision, court clerk experience, or similar
  • Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English

Meritorious

  • Experience or knowledge of total defense
  • Work with supervision
  • Experience in method development
  • Interest in foreign, security, and defense policy

Personal Characteristics

We are looking for someone who is confident in their professional role and can quickly switch between different areas of law, make legal assessments, and justify your conclusions. You work methodically and are used to making necessary prioritizations to deliver on time while maintaining quality. You have good collaboration skills and can convey complex legal positions clearly.

About Employment at ISP

The employment is permanent and begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date is according to agreement. The employment includes an obligation to be placed in a war position.

To work with us, Swedish citizenship is required. The position is classified in a security class, and a security clearance with a background check will be conducted before a hiring decision is made. Since a large part of the tasks involve confidential information, the possibility of remote work is limited.
