Within the Urology Unit in Malmö, there are two wards and one outpatient clinic. We meet patients with various urinary tract diseases – from minor procedures to major surgeries. Many of our patients return for follow-up, which creates strong patient relationships and continuity in our work.

Our outpatient clinic is divided into several multidisciplinary teams depending on diagnosis, and we work with five standardized care pathways (SVF) for urological cancer. Additionally, we offer urodynamic examinations, urotherapy visits, and microwave treatments through our pelvic floor team. This means that no two days are alike – there is always a lot happening, and the workday is both varied and developing.

The Urology Unit also has a regional educational mission. Here, there are opportunities for internal training, supervision of medical students, as well as training for AT and ST doctors, along with continuing education for staff in the field.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are excited to welcome two new medical secretaries to our team. Your role here is of great value – you are the hub of much that makes the organization run smoothly, and you contribute every day to creating a safe and professional care environment for our patients.

As a medical secretary with us, you are much more than administrative support – you are a central part of our care chain. You collaborate closely with doctors, nurses, and other professionals, and together you plan and create the best possible conditions for each patient visit. Your structure, demeanor, and competence make a difference for both colleagues and the patients we meet.

Your workday is varied and developing. You will work in the Melior journal system, be responsible for printouts in MedSpeech, manage tasks in PASiS, and play an important role in patient contact via phone and 1177 e-services. Here, your communication skills and engagement become an invaluable link between the organization and the patients.

As a medical secretary within the Urology Unit, you will have the opportunity to grow and influence. You will have your main employment in the unit and be placed in one of our teams, in our wards, or within special assignments – with good opportunities to develop, broaden your tasks, and take on more responsibility if you wish.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who have an education as a medical secretary within Health and Medical Administration (80p KY or 400p YH), or an equivalent approved medical secretary/doctor's secretary education. You express yourself well in Swedish both orally and in writing, and have good knowledge of medical terminology. We also see it as valuable if you feel comfortable with English in the workplace.

If you have experience with Melior, MedSpeech, PASiS, or diagnosis classification, we see it as advantageous – as well as if you have previously worked as a medical secretary. However, we also welcome you who are newly educated with curiosity and strong drive for the role. Experience with systems such as CuraTime, Medinet, HR-window, Raindance, or Excel is also seen as positive.
