Your new job

We offer you the opportunity to meet our fantastic students every day at Bäckadals adapted upper secondary school's national vocational programs. Through your engagement, you will help inspire students to achieve good academic results and, together with teachers and other school staff, create learning environments that promote both knowledge development and personal growth. You will become a significant part of Bäckadalsgymnasiet and collaborate closely with students, guardians, teachers, school management, and other staff in the school's development work.

We are looking for someone who wants to help shape a fantastic education for our students. You will support students, both individually and in groups, in their learning. The educators are responsible for teaching, and you will be there as a responsive and secure support to help students take the next step. You will work to help students develop a higher degree of independence and be part of a team consisting of educators and teaching assistants, where you will work together to help students achieve their knowledge goals.

As a teaching assistant at our adapted upper secondary school, you will meet students with intellectual disabilities, often in combination with one or more other disabilities. Your task is to contribute to a safe and good learning environment where each student is given the opportunity to develop their abilities and strengths throughout the school day. The work occurs both with individual students and in groups.

You will belong to a team with several professional roles, where you will work together for each student's individual development. You are expected to be well acquainted with the school's governing documents and contribute to high goal fulfillment in the systematic quality work.

Your qualifications

We are looking for someone who is eager to develop and who, together with others, wants to create the best possible conditions for students' learning. You are calm, mature, patient, and always put the student's needs first. Good collaboration skills are central to the role.

You have the ability to see and adapt to students' different needs and individual conditions, and you enjoy working in an environment where challenges are a natural part of everyday life. You want to be involved in helping students grow and develop. Experience with clear pedagogy and low-arousal approaches is advantageous. As a teaching assistant, you are a good role model and need to be able to build trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You are professional and secure in your interactions.

We prefer that you are trained as a treatment pedagogical/social pedagogical or have another educational background or relevant experience. A minimum of a high school diploma is required. Knowledge and experience of intellectual disabilities, NPF, language disorders, and/or concentration difficulties are advantageous. Experience from adapted upper secondary schools or primary schools is also a plus.

The position is directed towards the program for Property & Construction and the program for Vehicle Care and Goods Handling. Experience in the construction industry and/or automotive industry is therefore considered advantageous.
