Bäckadalsgymnasiet is now looking for a special education teacher in mathematics who wants to work closely with students, colleagues, and student health to strengthen students' goal achievement.

Your new job

You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced and competent colleagues to educate and develop mathematics teaching at Bäckadalsgymnasiet. We offer you the chance to meet our wonderful students daily and inspire them to achieve good academic results through your engagement. Together with us, you will create environments that promote students' learning and development, and you will actively participate in the school's development work. You will become part of the school's whole and collaborate with students, guardians, teachers, school management, and other school staff.

As a special education teacher at Bäckadalsgymnasiet, you actively work to create accessible and inclusive learning environments. With your expertise, you contribute to the school's development through preventive measures and systematic support for students and staff. You will conduct special education in mathematics both individually and in smaller groups, while also providing support and guidance to working teams and teachers through coaching conversations. You will actively work to develop the school's organization with a primary focus on mathematics teaching.

The role also includes work in the school's student health team, where the work is characterized by a salutogenic perspective. Together, the student health team works with promoting and preventive measures, addresses current student cases, and collaborates closely with the school's other staff and management.

Building good relationships and collaborating with guardians and external actors is an important part of the assignment to ensure that each student receives the support they need.

Your qualifications

You have a special education teacher's degree with a focus on mathematics, or a special education training and a teaching license in mathematics for high school. You have experience in pedagogical work in schools, and we view positively if you have worked with teaching students in need of support, preferably in mathematics. Furthermore, we also appreciate if you have experience in mentoring teachers and working in student health teams.

As a person, you are confident and attentive with the ability to build trusting relationships with both students and guardians as well as colleagues. You have a good understanding of people's different conditions and adapt your working methods and responses to each student's unique needs. You are skilled at coaching, developing, and providing positive support so that students can reach their full potential. You take great responsibility for your work, independently planning and ensuring progress in your processes. It is positive if you are solution-focused and willing to try new alternative solutions.

As a person, you are responsible, social, and flexible. You have an interest in being involved in developing the educational activities with a focus on teaching and students' learning. You are knowledgeable in your subjects. You have good pedagogical skills and find it easy to collaborate. You create a conducive learning environment through relational work and are good at establishing and maintaining good relationships with students and staff at the school. In the role of teacher, you need to be meticulous and have the ability to take overall responsibility. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
