Prolympia is Sweden's leading sports school at the compulsory school level. The school is independent and focuses on knowledge, safety, sports, and health – we are now looking for a new colleague who can contribute to our operations. The school is centrally located with proximity to sports arenas, Vätterstranden, and the Rosenlund area. Here, 500 students from grades 2-9 attend, and we have about 70 employees.

We are now looking for an engaged and proactive lead teacher

We are now looking for an engaged and proactive lead teacher who is passionate about student learning and wants to lead our development work on how AI can enhance teaching, contribute to student learning, and support teachers.

We want you to have

• Experience and skill as a teacher with a clear focus on good teaching.
• Interest and knowledge about AI in schools – and a strong desire to deepen your understanding.
• Good ability to lead collegial learning and drive development processes.
• The ability to see opportunities, think creatively, and prioritize the best interests of students.

The role of lead teacher will be combined with a teaching position based on qualifications. We are particularly looking for teachers with subject competence in Swedish, mathematics, and natural sciences for grades 7-9, but other subject qualifications for middle and high school may also be of interest.

Responsibilities

As part of the role of lead teacher, you are expected to lead the work on how AI can support teaching, learning, and development by:

• Exploring and developing how AI can be used to strengthen student learning, motivation, and independence.
• Supporting colleagues in working with AI in a way that promotes equity, quality, and professional judgment.
• Contributing to the school's overall development of good teaching and systematic quality work.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree from a teacher education program with a teaching license and qualifications to teach students in middle and/or high school.

To be eligible to apply for the lead teacher position, you must meet the requirements set by the Swedish National Agency for Education:

• have a teaching license issued by the Swedish National Agency for Education no later than the day they become a lead teacher
• can document at least four years of well-regarded work with teaching in one or more positions within the school system. This requirement can be considered met even if the teaching has occurred as unqualified, in after-school care, or part-time.
• have demonstrated a particularly good ability to improve students' academic results and have a strong interest in developing teaching
• be assessed by the principal as particularly qualified for teaching and tasks related to teaching.

In our recruitment process for lead teachers, in addition to the regular recruitment process, there will also be an interview with the school principal (employer).

Other

We apply a 6-month probationary period. A background check concerning work in schools and preschools is required for employment.
