The Department of Functional Support offers assistance and services to children, adolescents, and adults with disabilities. We work based on LSS and the Social Services Act to strengthen the individual's independence, security, and participation. The department includes daily activities, housing with special services, housing for social support, support and service housing, short-term accommodation for children, leisure activities, respite and companion services, as well as personal assistance. Job Responsibilities

The pedagogical team consists of four educators who collaborate with each other and serve as a supportive function for users and staff within the department's various accommodations. You will be placed in the pedagogical team directly reporting to the department head, and your responsibilities include developing and enhancing pedagogical methods based on evidence-based knowledge, as well as monitoring research and new findings in the field. The work also includes documentation.

You will conduct cognitive and communicative assessments and produce aids aimed at increasing participation and independence for the user. You will guide, educate, and support employees in their tasks and work according to plans and methods. You will closely collaborate with the unit manager, other educators, nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and others.

Qualifications

You should have a university/college degree as an occupational therapist, in pedagogy preferably as a special educator, or other education that the employer deems equivalent. Education and experience within the LSS operational area are meritorious. The work involves a high degree of independence, and we are therefore looking for someone who can work independently, takes responsibility, is proactive, and can be flexible. We seek someone with an attentive and responsive approach and good collaboration skills to work in a team since you will collaborate with many stakeholders. We want you to see opportunities and be open to innovative thinking. You should have the ability to motivate users and employees.

Since there are documentation requirements in the position, you should have good computer skills and be able to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish. Within the framework of the national minority language law, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is an asset when applying for employment in Gällivare Municipality.

Driving license B is required.

Working Hours/Duration

Full-time, permanent employment with flexible working hours according to agreement. A probationary period may apply.

Monthly salary, individual salary setting.
