Stadsöskolan is a well-equipped school for grades 4-9 located in Gammelstad, about ten kilometers from Luleå city center, situated between Kyrkbyn and the Lule River. This school year, the school has approximately 430 students, of which 170 belong to the middle school level. The students and staff at Stadsöskolan are happy, feel safe, and the working climate is good. Adjacent to the school, there are sports halls, swimming pools, libraries, youth centers, and other essential services such as pharmacies, hairdressers, grocery stores, cafes, health centers, and dental care. Since there are several frequent bus services to and from Gammelstad, it is easy to commute to and from the school.

At our school, we place the student and their knowledge at the center, where we see relationship building as a fundamental component. With us, student health begins in the classroom with good leadership, conscious pedagogy, and good collaboration among colleagues. We work with an inclusive approach to create a good and safe environment for all our students, and we value good cooperation with homes. Construction of Gammelstad's new K-9 school will soon begin. It will be a large workplace with much wisdom and experience gathered in one place. We have an exciting time ahead of us as we get to help shape a new, modern school.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

You will teach middle school students in English, Swedish, and social studies subjects, and other subjects may be added. The position involves planning, teaching, and assessment. You will carry out your teaching and then actively work to evaluate it to find ways to reach all the students you encounter. In this role, you will collaborate closely with other teachers and student health services. You will belong to a work team and be a mentor in a class.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a licensed subject teacher in social studies, Swedish, and English, who has work experience in teaching these subjects. It is an advantage if you have subject qualifications in more subjects.

To succeed in this role, you need to be independent and skilled at planning, executing, and following up on your teaching. In the classroom, you are a good leader focused on achieving goals and have the ability to create order and a conducive working environment. It is also important that you have good collaboration skills and are adept at creating and maintaining good relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
