Örnässkolan is a K-9 school located centrally in the Örnäset residential area. Currently, about 500 students attend our school, of which 250 are in grades 7-9. Within the catchment area, you will find Furuparkskolan and Tallkronanskolan.

Our school is characterized by diversity, and we who work here advocate for an environment based on safety, respect, tolerance, and the equal worth of all individuals. Through our lead teachers, we have a conscious focus on teaching Swedish, language-developing methods in all subjects, development of sports and health, as well as in mathematics. We also have an ongoing collaboration project regarding students' well-being. In this project, we collaborate with LTU, Sunderbyskolan, and the other participating countries Spain, Latvia, and Italy.

Influence and equality are important issues for us, and something we focus on particularly in collaboration with our students. This is true both in learning situations and in our well-functioning student council. Knowledge in the various subjects is made accessible through the digital platforms that the school’s educators are well acquainted with. Digitalization is a tool that can both simplify and inspire learning and is therefore also an area we constantly strive to develop. This is done without compromising the more traditional teaching methods. Our goal is to make knowledge and learning accessible through varied methods for the benefit of all our students, regardless of the individual student’s circumstances and abilities.

We take pride in our modern sports hall and the multi-arena that inspires students to spend time and move outdoors. In the surrounding area, there are also excellent opportunities to be in nature. Furthermore, all teaching takes place in our own facilities, which means that students do not need to move outside the area during their school days. The facilities where art education takes place are suitable and include, in addition to a traditional creative environment for artistic expression, opportunities for pottery and firing of works in a kiln.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for someone who, together with the school's student health team, principal, and teachers, wants to contribute to ensuring that all students can develop as far as possible. As a special teacher, you will work with students who need special support from grades 7-9, both individually, in smaller teaching groups, and together with regular teachers. As a special teacher, you will also be responsible for mapping, documentation, and follow-up, as well as collaboration with guardians.

QUALIFICATIONS

Primarily, we are looking for someone with a teaching license and a special education degree. You are knowledgeable about the Education Act and the governing documents that regulate the school and act according to these in meetings with students, guardians, and staff. If you have a special education pedagogical degree, you are also welcome to apply as it may be relevant for employment as a special educator.

You have a good ability and willingness to understand students' various needs in teaching situations and have the ability to create trusting relationships. You are a good leader, work in a structured manner, and adapt your tasks according to the needs of the organization. You are confident, have an analytical approach, and a positive view of students. It is also important that you can communicate effectively in the role, both verbally and in writing, in various contexts. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
