Residential Support Worker in Social Psychiatry

The Social Administration provides support to the residents of Botkyrka and is responsible for authority exercise, primarily according to the Social Services Act. The support is for both individuals and their relatives. The Social Administration has a special responsibility for children, youth, and adults in need of support according to social legislation. We are approximately 500 employees who provide support to the residents of Botkyrka in an equitable, fair, and safe manner using strength-based approaches.

The Position and Responsibilities

As a residential support worker in a group home within social psychiatry, you have a very important role.

You support individuals in growing towards independence by providing comprehensive support across various life areas. You are there for them, supporting them and ensuring they are offered a high quality of life and a sense of coherence. You tailor the support to each person's specific needs and wishes, creating a safe environment for them to live and operate in. Your tasks vary and can sometimes be challenging. You always strive to improve the users' social skills and encourage them to participate in society. The support we offer should be evidence-based, proven, and legally secure.

Your main responsibilities:

• Provide emotional support and help the individual manage feelings, well-being, and daily challenges.
• Provide practical support and motivate daily activities such as cleaning, laundry, shopping, and routines.
• Plan and implement activities that promote participation, social contacts, and personal development.
• Be responsible for medication management according to delegation.
• Document, establish action plans together with the individual, and collaborate with networks, relatives, and other professionals to ensure coordinated support.

You Who Apply to Us

We are looking for someone with education as a support pedagogue, social pedagogue, treatment pedagogue, social worker, behavioral scientist, mental health nurse, or other equivalent education deemed relevant by the employer. You have documented experience from work within social psychiatry or LSS, as well as specific competence regarding comorbidity issues in combination with mental health problems. Other requirements for the position are:

• Experience using the Swedish language, both orally and in writing, in a professional context.

We consider it an advantage if you have:

• Experience working with methods such as Motivational Interviewing (MI), An Independent Life (ESL), Low Arousal Approach (LAB).
• Knowledge of the Social Services Act and the Privacy Act.
• Knowledge and/or experience of neuropsychiatry from LSS.
• Experience with Signs Of Safety.
• Experience using digital tools.
• A valid driver's license (B).
