At Hovåsskolan, approximately 580 students attend from preschool to grade 9.

There is also an after-school program with four departments, as well as adapted primary school. Hovåsskolan is located near the sea and forest. We utilize nature both during lesson time and during after-school activities.

Responsibilities

As a teacher in grades 4–6, you will belong to the middle school team and work closely with your colleagues. For us, joy in work and collaboration are important values, and we want to create a holistic view of the student's development and learning together.

The position includes responsibility for planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching as well as mentorship. You will also participate in collegial learning at the school. Through varied and adapted teaching, you provide the guidance and stimulation that individuals and groups need in their learning. In your role, you consider the students' personal development based on their own conditions.

Qualifications

Formal competencies:
We are looking for a certified teacher for grades 4–6. A broad qualification in theoretical subjects is an advantage.

Previous teaching experience is an advantage, but we also welcome newly graduated teachers to apply for the position. To give you, as a newly graduated teacher, the best possible start in your career, you will be part of the School Administration's Teacher Academy's introduction for newly graduated teachers. The introduction provides you with a network of other newly graduated teachers and targeted activities during your first year as a teacher.

You are pedagogical and gain energy from contributing to others' learning, and you create conditions for learning to occur. You encourage dialogue, participation, and engagement. Additionally, you are collaborative and have the ability to work together with others to perform tasks and achieve goals.

You are structured and set clear goals, planning activities and projects in good time. You ensure that the work is completed and follow up on the results. At the same time, you are flexible and can easily adapt your working methods based on changing conditions and new information.
