OligoNova Hub is a national research infrastructure that provides academic researchers in Sweden with support and resources to transform ideas and discoveries into new oligonucleotide-based drugs. OligoNova Hub (www.oligonova.org) is organized within Core Facilities at Gothenburg University (www.cf.gu.se) and is also part of SciLifeLab's drug development platform (https://www.scilifelab.se/units/ddd-platform).
Job Responsibilities
As a research assistant, you will support ongoing projects at OligoNova. Methods used in the projects include culturing cell lines from various organisms, qPCR, library preparation for NGS, Western blot, plate-based cell assays, and other molecular biology and cell biology techniques.
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in molecular biology or a related field is required. Documented experience in molecular biology techniques, especially gene expression analysis, is a requirement.
Experience in research on therapeutic oligonucleotides and/or drug development is an advantage. Practical experience in cell culture, laboratory automation (e.g., Echo, CertusFlex, and/or Hamilton systems), qPCR analysis with the QuantStudio 7 Pro system, protein analysis, and a good ability to express oneself in spoken and written English are also advantageous.
When assessing candidates, special emphasis will be placed on scientific independence and analytical ability, as well as the ability to collaborate within the unit and with external partners. Personal suitability will be given great importance.
Employment
The position is temporary (fixed-term employment) for 3 months, covering 80% of full-time, based at OligoNova within Core Facilities at Gothenburg University. Start date: April 1 or by agreement.
