About Adult Education

The adult education in the Knowledge Association is a dynamic educational organization, characterized by great flexibility and adaptability to new needs arising in the municipalities of Trollhättan and Vänersborg. Adult education includes SFI (Swedish for immigrants), adapted education for adults, education at basic and upper secondary levels, commissioned education, and higher vocational education.

We are now looking for a study and career counselor who wants to help strengthen our guidance team. Your main workplace will be in Vänersborg, but parts of the position may be located in Trollhättan.

Working as a study and career counselor within adult education means a broad, varied, and developing assignment. You will be an important part of our joint work to provide individuals with good conditions to succeed in their studies and take the next step towards working life or further education.

Your tasks include guidance conversations, follow-up of individual study plans, and information efforts to individuals and groups. The work also involves collaboration with, among others, the employment agency, labor market units, and social assistance.

Study and career counselors within adult education are an important professional group that actively participates in many issues such as planning courses and the supply of vocational training. In our primary collaboration area, the Knowledge Association's adult education collaborates with Uddevalla and Orust. This means free application between the municipalities regarding vocational training and a deepened collaboration between study and career counselors. In addition, there is also regional collaboration with study and career counselors in Fyrbodal.

Qualifications

• Degree in study and career counseling.
• Good linguistic and written skills in Swedish and English.

Desirable Experiences

• We also welcome those studying in the study and career counseling program.
• Good digital competence. - Examples of tasks include documenting in our student registration system and conducting guidance conversations via MS Teams or Google Meet.
• Good knowledge and experience of using the Office suite.
• Experience working within adult education.
• Experience in guidance within adult education or guidance related to adult students or learners.
