At the Swedish Migration Agency, we work with one of the major societal issues of our time – migration. We are about 6,000 people here, and we have a uniquely important job!

We are now looking for individuals to strengthen our team! As part of our mission, the Swedish Migration Agency seeks and utilizes external funding to finance projects that develop the agency and improve collaboration with other countries in the field of migration.

The position is a permanent employment where you can choose to work at one of the locations Sundbyberg, Norrköping, or Malmö.

The External Funding Unit is a support function responsible for increasing the agency's ability to seek and utilize external funding (i.e., project funding from various EU funds (e.g., AMIF, BMVI/ISF, TWINNING, etc.) and Swedish funders (e.g., SIDA, MSB, etc.). The projects are carried out both in Sweden and internationally.

The unit is responsible for coordinating the work of identifying and assessing opportunities for external funding, applying for external funding, and supporting externally funded projects in all phases – from project idea and application to final reporting.

The unit currently employs 19 staff members who are experts, project economists, and project administrators. We work in teams, and as a junior expert with us, you will be part of the unit's expert team and work closely with your colleagues. The expert team consists of five people, and your colleagues are located in Norrköping, Örebro, and Malmö. As a junior expert, you will have the opportunity to grow into the role through, among other things, introduction, mentorship, and collegial support in your work to develop in your role.

Main Responsibilities

The Swedish Migration Agency is now looking for an initiative-taking junior expert who wants to contribute to driving the agency's work with external funding forward. The role means that you are driven by development issues, both in terms of developing and refining routines and structures, but also in identifying areas for improvement and translating ideas into long-term solutions for the organization as a whole.

As a junior expert, you will primarily work on leading and writing project applications in close dialogue with the agency's various operations and external actors. Additionally, you will support the implementation of approved projects regarding external funding and help develop the unit's support in the implementation process. You will also contribute to identifying relevant national and international funders and engage in dialogue with them.

An important part of your work is to build collaborations and networks within the organization as well as with other actors and funders. You are also a key part of contributing to long-term follow-up, analysis, and disseminating the unit's work.

You are solution-focused and flexible, seeing opportunities rather than obstacles, even when conditions are uncertain or change during the course of work.

Qualifications

  • A degree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Sciences, Political Science) or another academic qualification combined with relevant work experience that the employer deems equivalent and relevant for this position.
  • Experience in working with organizational development, preferably in project form, and/or knowledge of application processes for external funding.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex issues into understandable and usable information.
  • The ability to express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and English.

It is advantageous if you have

  • Led or participated in application processes for external funding.
  • Written applications for external funding.
  • Assessed applications for external funding.
  • Project management of externally funded projects.
  • Experience working in the public sector.

Information

Employment type: Permanent position with an initial probationary period.
Location: Sundbyberg, Norrköping, or Malmö.
Start date: As soon as possible or by agreement.
Working hours: Office hours, travel is included in the position.
