Within preschool, school, and leisure activities in Berg Municipality, well-educated and engaged staff work to provide the best conditions for the municipality's children and youth for lifelong learning. We are now looking for a driven and creative music teacher for Svenstavik School!

Job Responsibilities

As a teacher, your primary task is to plan, implement, and follow up on teaching for our students. In this role, you will work with other staff at the school to reach and strengthen each individual student in their knowledge development. Together, you will work for the development, learning, and influence of all our students in the teaching. Our children should have fun, feel safe, and be able to develop according to their own conditions. You will be part of a team responsible for maintaining and developing the pedagogical activities. This includes being active in the systematic quality work of the activities and in collegial learning processes.

As a music teacher, you will teach our students in grades 3-9 according to the curriculum in singing, rhythm, melody, and chord playing, both individually and in groups. If necessary, in all stages. The teaching also includes conveying the cultural and historical significance of music.

The position as a music teacher is part-time 80%, with the possibility to combine this with 20% teaching in SO subjects for a full-time position of 100%.

Qualifications

We are primarily looking for someone who is a certified teacher with a focus on music. You have previous experience working as a teacher and can collaborate across subjects with other teachers. Furthermore, you have a good knowledge of formative teaching and can adapt your teaching to students with different support needs. Significant weight will be given to previous experience in music education. Good knowledge of the primary school's governing documents is a requirement, as well as proficiency in the Swedish language (both spoken and written).

Berg Municipality is a Sámi administrative municipality, and therefore knowledge of the South Sámi language and culture is an advantage.

Personal Qualities

As a person, we see that you find it easy to collaborate and communicate with colleagues, students, and parents. In a small team, great flexibility and a lot of personal responsibility are required to plan, implement, and evaluate the activities. You have a good ability to create structure in both your own work and for your students. We also see that you are creative and flexible, and can lead our students to new knowledge through a pedagogical approach.
