Nyhedens school is a 7-9 school in Krokom with about 250 students. We work closely together to create comprehensive solutions for the students. The work is based on the student's opportunities for development and learning throughout the day. We have a high proportion of qualified teachers and we work to create a good working environment for both students and staff. Nyhedens school works purposefully with knowledge, security, and well-being. Additionally, Nyhedens school is a Certified PEP school. This means that we have introduced more physical activity and healthy eating habits during the school day, which creates better conditions for learning.

The Children and Education Administration has about 800 employees. The administration's activities extend across the entire municipality and include preschool, primary school F-9, adapted primary school, leisure center, food and cleaning services, mother tongue education, cultural school, and library activities.

A day as a teacher of Swedish and Social Studies at Nyhedens school

Teaching and stimulating students based on municipal and national goals is the main task in the work. Inspiring, motivating, and arousing curiosity in students to seek the knowledge they need is another important part of the work, as well as supporting students in their personal development so that they function socially in society.

Other important tasks in the teaching profession are to identify development needs and drive the development of activities towards set goals and contribute to the school's development. There are great opportunities for you to use your knowledge and experience to further develop the activities with your colleagues.

Your skills

You are a certified teacher with the qualifications to teach grades 7-9.

You are familiar with the school's governing documents and can implement them in your daily work.

You have an empathetic ability to understand students' needs and meet them where they are, as well as to listen, encourage, stimulate, and challenge them to further develop. You have an inclusive approach.

To thrive in the role, you see the work team as a resource, and it is natural for you to positively contribute to solving common tasks. We attach great importance to your interest in participating in development work and your ability to collaborate.

It is a merit if you have experience in working with low-affective approaches and pedagogical development work, as well as experience in working as a mentor/supervisor.
