Welcome to us
Here you will have the opportunity to support families in Kungsholmen who are in need of family therapy and individual parenting support.
Our unit works from a systems-oriented and network-focused approach where methods and practices, if possible, should be based on evidence-based methods and practices.
The Parent Reception is part of the preventive and promotional area, which is part of the social services within the Kungsholmen district administration. The area also includes field assistants, family therapists, school social workers, social workers in the reception group, two group leaders, and a area manager.

Your role
In your role, you will work with interventions without needs assessment, family therapy, individual parenting support, and individual support conversations for children over 12 years old. The interventions primarily target parents with children aged 0-20 years. Family therapy is an intervention aimed at promoting functioning relationships, communication, and interaction within the family. Through conversations and concrete advice and tools, families are given the opportunity to work on issues such as setting boundaries, conflict management, and structure in everyday life. The conversations are voluntary and also limited in the number of sessions offered. In your role, you will document in the system, Debi.
Today, Kungsholmen district administration has a cooperation agreement with BB-Stockholm Family (BMM and BVC operations) according to a family-centered working method, which means that some of the support conversations are held in their premises at Fridhemsplan.
The role also includes collaborating with various professionals such as open preschools, kindergartens, and schools with information dissemination and method support. The preventive work may also involve driving and developing parenting support together with partners and preparing and conducting various parenting support training.
Your qualifications and experience
We are looking for someone who has:
- a degree in social work and basic psychotherapy training (step 1 training).
- at least five years of experience working with the target group of parents, children, and adolescents
- good knowledge of social services work with children and adolescents
We consider it an advantage if you have:
- further training in systemic family work
- experience with BBIC, Komet, ABC, Skilda världar, and MI
We place particular emphasis on the following abilities and skills:
- Self-driven and structured: As a person, you need to have a high ability to work independently, with a good ability to plan and drive your work forward.
- Flexible: You are responsible, flexible, and responsive in your work.
- Collaboration skills: You have a very good ability to collaborate and create good relationships both in the workplace, with partners, and in your work with the families you meet.
- Engaged: You are engaged and interested in the field of work, have a willingness and ability to take responsibility for the whole of the operation, and an interest in method and operational development.
