About us

The Care Administration is responsible for care for people with disabilities and for elderly care.

The LSS authority department consists of ten LSS officers, one housing coordinator, one coordinator for daily activities, and one deputy department manager/social law lawyer. Two officers are senior officers and one officer is legally qualified.

What does the job entail?

As an LSS officer, you are primarily responsible for investigating needs, making decisions, and following up on interventions for people with certain disabilities. You will mainly work based on the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons (LSS). You will also investigate, assess, and make decisions according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Act on National Travel Service when needed. As an LSS officer, you will have daily contact with users, relatives, representatives, providers, and other units in the municipality as well as authorities and healthcare providers.

It is important that you enjoy development work and see collaboration as an important part of success. We work according to IBIC (individual needs in focus) as an investigation methodology and place great emphasis on legal certainty and follow-up work.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who:

  • has a degree in social work or another relevant higher education
  • is knowledgeable in legislation and its preparatory work as well as the regulations that govern our work
  • has good investigative methodology and documentation skills
  • can express themselves well in Swedish in both speech and writing.

We consider it meritorious if you:

  • have experience working as an LSS officer or assistance officer
  • have experience working with people with disabilities
  • have knowledge of IBIC as an investigation method and/or have worked in the operational system Lifecare.

The role of LSS officer requires you to be service-oriented, flexible, and meticulous while providing a respectful and empathetic response and being able to build trust in contact with users and relatives. Making well-founded decisions and maintaining a high level of legal certainty is important. The ability to communicate clearly and adapt working methods based on individual needs is central to the role. It is important that you are self-sufficient and take responsibility for your tasks and can structure your work while also being able to collaborate with colleagues, relatives, and other professionals. As a person, you need to be secure and stable and able to adapt to different situations when needed.
