Job Description
Are you an experienced Environmental Engineer with a solid understanding of environmental legislation? We are now looking for someone who, together with colleagues, wants to take our environmental work to the next level. Welcome with your application!
As an Environmental Engineer with us, you will play a key role in driving our environmental and sustainability efforts forward. You will ensure that our operations not only comply with legal requirements and permit conditions but also evolve towards higher environmental performance and a more sustainable way of working. In close dialogue with production, maintenance, technical specialists/engineers, and external parties, you will analyze our environmental impact, develop improvement proposals, and ensure that the right measures are implemented. The work involves both practical elements such as data collection, follow-ups, and contacts with authorities, as well as strategic parts where you contribute to planning, projects, and long-term environmental initiatives.
You will be responsible for developing and managing our environmental management system, driving projects related to energy efficiency, waste, emission reduction, and resource management, and ensuring that our environmental data is of high quality. Through your determination, technical expertise, and commitment, you will become the internal expert guiding the organization in the right direction and ensuring that we are always one step ahead in our sustainability efforts. You will also educate and support colleagues while being a reliable representative towards authorities and other external stakeholders.
This is a role for you who thrives in a dynamic everyday life where you can switch between analysis, problem-solving, and close collaboration with others. Here you will also have excellent opportunities for further development. With the right drive and commitment, there are great prospects for growing into new roles. This is a chance for you who want to deepen your technical expertise while building a long-term career with potential for future leadership. Travel is required in this position, both within Sweden and Europe.
The position is located in Hässleholm, and you will report to the Senior Sustainability Leader.
Qualifications
To thrive and succeed in this role, we see that you have a bachelor's or master's degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, sustainable development, or a similar field. You complement your education with work experience from the industrial/technical sector where you have worked with environmental issues/permits, legislation, and data-driven follow-up.
To succeed in the role, you have:
- a good understanding of environmental legislation and how it is implemented in practical operations, including the application and implementation of relevant requirements.
- the ability to work systematically with compliance and ensure that the operations follow current laws, regulations, and internal governing documents.
- experience in handling and interpreting various regulations and identifying which requirements are relevant to the operations.
- experience in reviewing and producing clear and well-structured reports.
You who are applying have an analytical and strategic approach and are skilled at identifying both opportunities and solutions. You work meticulously and are confident in handling and interpreting complex information while communicating clearly and thriving in a role with many contact points. You have a natural ability to lead and coordinate others and enjoy a role where you drive processes forward and create structure.
You will be part of a European Center of Excellence and work closely with colleagues from several different countries. The role also involves regular contacts with the company's environmental department in the USA. Therefore, very good knowledge of English is required, as well as a well-developed ability to collaborate and communicate effectively in an international and culturally diverse work environment.
A valid driver's license (B) is a requirement.
