The Endocrinology Clinic has a large outpatient and day care operation in both Malmö and Lund, as well as inpatient care places in Malmö. The specialty of endocrinology and diabetology is one of the profile areas of Skåne University Hospital. At the endocrinology clinics in Lund and Malmö, patients with hormonal balance disorders regarding the pituitary gland, thyroid, adrenal glands, parathyroid glands, and patients with insulin-treated diabetes are investigated and treated. The area of operation has a well-developed multidisciplinary collaboration with other disciplines within Region Skåne.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a diabetes nurse with us, you will conduct independent nursing consultations. You will work person-centered and meet patients primarily with type 1 diabetes aged 18 and above. This involves educating patients and relatives in self-care, both individually and in groups, in injection techniques, self-monitoring, and continuous glucose monitoring. Another important part of the job is following up on lifestyle habits, medication adjustments, and qualified telephone advice. As a staff member at the endocrinology clinic, you will be part of our interdisciplinary team, including doctors, dietitians, social workers, and medical foot care specialists.

To help you settle into your role in the best way possible, we offer individually tailored introductions based on previous experiences. At your own pace, you will build new skills and knowledge related to various technical diabetes aids.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who are applying are a licensed nurse with permission to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale are required. Additionally, you have further education in diabetes care of at least 15 higher education credits. More higher education credits related to diabetes care or experience with insulin pump treatment and CGM are advantageous. As today’s diabetes care is technically advanced, we would like you to have an interest in and experience with various types of insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring.

Furthermore, you are confident in your professional role, used to making your own assessments and decisions. You also enjoy challenges and want to contribute to improvement work.
