The Role of the Operating Room Nurse

As an operating room nurse, you play a central role in the perioperative care chain – before, during, and after surgical procedures. You work closely with surgeons, anesthetists, nursing assistants, and other professionals to ensure a safe, secure, and professional surgical environment for each individual patient. You are responsible for ensuring hygiene, sterility, and making sure that all instruments, materials, equipment, and medical technology are functional and in place.

The surgical and intensive care clinic is one of the largest clinics in the hospital with about 450 employees in intensive care, surgical nursing, sterilization services, and an administrative unit. The clinic has staff with high competence and a desire to develop – you will be part of this development. The vision is to be a world-class clinic, and together we provide patients with the best possible care!

Your Profile

We are now looking for you who are a licensed nurse with specialized training in surgery and who thrives in and promotes teamwork across boundaries. If you have previous experience in surgical operations, we highly value this.

To thrive with us, we believe you are structured, confident, and stable in your working methods with a positive attitude. You have good collaboration skills, a positive attitude, and are flexible in your way of working. It is important for us that you have a strong work ethic, can take initiative, have the ability to see the big picture, can adapt to changing circumstances, and maintain calm in stressful situations. Personal suitability will be given great importance. It is desirable that you have several years of experience as an operating room nurse.

We offer you a permanent full-time position, daytime Monday to Friday, with a start date according to agreement. You will work in our team at Day Surgery where we set our goals high and our vision is to offer surgical and intensive care of world-class together. At Day Surgery, both adults and children are operated on and cared for. We work with specialties such as orthopedics, surgery, ear/nose/throat, and gynecology.
