The Role of the Nurse

As a nurse in the orthopedic care unit, you will work with medication management, documentation, and medical technology equipment. You are responsible for nursing care, pre- and postoperative care, patient mobilization, and care and monitoring of patients with epidural catheters, blocks, and patient-controlled pain management.

In the orthopedic outpatient clinic, your tasks include telephone counseling, wound care, medication management, and booking and planning patient visits. The work also involves participating in the reception work during patient visits. The work is done in close collaboration with other professional categories in the clinic and in cooperation with our partners.

The application concerns two positions: one full-time position in the orthopedic department and a rotation position where the work periodically alternates between the department and the outpatient clinic.

The Orthopedic Clinic Ryhov is the largest orthopedic clinic in Jönköping County. We offer treatment, care, and rehabilitation for orthopedic diseases.

The orthopedic clinic has a large planned operation with outpatient care and surgery. In the outpatient clinic, we assess patients with pain in the musculoskeletal system and also follow up on patients being treated for fractures.

The orthopedic clinic has two care departments. One department cares for patients with acute orthopedic injuries and diseases. The other department cares for patients in connection with various planned surgeries in the musculoskeletal system.
