Missed the earlier application round for Junior Doctor (AT) training this spring, or are you simply looking for a later start date? We are now conducting an extra recruitment round for AT positions starting 30 November 2026. At Värnamo Hospital, you will get an AT experience where you don't just go through the blocks; you become part of a team that wants you to succeed. What we offer you

At Värnamo Hospital, we strive to offer the AT training you want. Our goal is to be flexible and listen to your wishes, thereby creating satisfied and skilled doctors. We offer an AT program with a good introduction, educational activities, and great opportunities to influence through collaboration.

We are offering AT blocks with a start date of 30 November 2026.

All AT blocks cover 21 months and are distributed as follows:

• Six months of surgery (four months of surgery, two weeks of anesthesia, and six weeks of orthopedics)
• Six months of medicine including geriatrics
• Three months of psychiatry
• Six months of general practice

Within your AT block, you have six elective weeks (auscultation).

Who we are looking for

You must have a medical degree by the planned start date of the AT block. Foreign applicants must have permission from the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) to complete AT training in Sweden and have documented language skills equivalent to C1 level in Swedish.

Our goal is to recruit a competent group with diverse characters, which we believe benefits both the AT doctors and our hospital. However, we all agree that you should be responsible, calm, secure, and stable in stressful situations, and that you have good collaborative skills. We place great importance on personal suitability.

We want your application no later than 26 April 2026.

You apply by answering our selection questions and attaching your CV, grade transcript from LADOK/medical degree certificate, at least 2 clinical references, and a photo. Applicants with medical education from another country must also attach the National Board of Health and Welfare's decision on permission to do AT in Sweden.

We do not request a cover letter for this recruitment. The selection questions are based on the job profile for this position; therefore, your answers are an important part of the application and form the basis for our selection.

We aim to have a fast recruitment process where interviews take place continuously as applications come in. Interviews will be held on-site at Värnamo Hospital and are scheduled for the following dates: 30 April, 7 May, and 13 May.

Admission decisions will be made shortly after the application deadline. A response is requested within a few days.

If you are offered the AT position, we will request an extract from the criminal record register.
