The Role of Senior Physician

As a senior physician at our mammography department at County Hospital Ryhov in Jönköping, you will be responsible for independently investigating clinical patients using, for example, ultrasound, biopsy, stereotaxy, and vacuum excisions. Screening review is also part of your work. We also use MRI for investigations when necessary. We will soon begin using contrast mammography and AI.

You will have extensive contact with patients and collaborate with other staff in the breast care process. You will lead or participate in multidisciplinary conferences and supervise residents (ST-doctors).

The position is a permanent full-time role with a start date to be agreed upon. Working hours are during the day on weekdays.

Your Future Workplace

Radiology is a county-wide 24-hour clinic with approximately 360 employees located at the county's three hospitals: County Hospital Ryhov in Jönköping, Högland Hospital in Eksjö, and Värnamo Hospital. Radiology performs modern, high-tech diagnostics and offers a broad and advanced range of examinations. We perform, among other things, angiointerventions, skeletal and chest X-rays, CT scans, MRI, ultrasound, and PET-CT.

The Mammography Department belongs to the County Radiology Clinic in Region Jönköping. Within mammography, we perform approximately 10,000 clinical examinations and 36,000 health screenings annually. The clinical operations are located in Jönköping. Health screenings take place in Jönköping, in the mammography van in Höglandet, and at the radiology department in Värnamo. We have about 30 employees, and the team welcoming you consists of breast radiologists, radiographers, and healthcare administrators. We use Sectra RIS and PACS.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who are an educated radiologist and preferably have a completed or ongoing specialist training in mammography. We prefer that you have at least two years of experience in mammography since you need to be able to perform all the tasks included in the mammography department's mandate. For us, it is also important that you thrive in an environment where development is the focus.

As a person, you are responsible and structure your work well. In meetings with the patient, you are calm and approachable and always want the best for the patient. You have a good ability to quickly adapt to changed circumstances and act in the best interest of the operation in your actions and decisions.

Since you work closely with your colleagues, it is important for us that you have good collaboration skills. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
