The Role of Pacemaker Nurse

As a pacemaker nurse, you will work in a team alongside nurses and doctors at the pacemaker clinic, which is connected to the cardiology section. The role includes surgical operations, outpatient care, and heart device-related tasks for patients in other units at the hospital. You will be part of the cardiology section, with some work on both the ward and the cardiac intensive care unit.

Your responsibilities include:

• Pacemaker checks and follow-ups
• Follow-up for ICD, CRT, and CSP devices
• Control of heart devices in connection with examinations and surgeries
• Remote monitoring
• Patient information and counseling
• Assisting in the implantation of loop recorders
• Patient care during implantations and function checks
• Collaboration with cardiology units and healthcare providers

Your Future Workplace

The pacemaker and ICD clinic is a specialist clinic within the medical department. The clinic is staffed by care administrators, specialist nurses, and specialist doctors. Collaboration takes place with all care wards and clinics at Ryhov County Hospital, as well as with the University Hospital in Linköping.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who are a registered nurse with a specialist education in cardiology and have previous experience in cardiac care and pacemaker operations. As a person, you are confident in independent work and have good teamwork skills. We see that you have a technical interest and a patient-focused approach.
