About the Job

A two-month temporary position as a researcher is announced within a research program funded by the Swedish Research Council, aimed at increasing knowledge about biomolecular phase separation and condensation. The successful candidate will join the dynamic international environment at The Plant Catabolism Laboratories, conducting high-quality interdisciplinary research on biomolecular condensates, autophagy, calcium signaling, proteolysis, and their interactions.

Your Background

We are looking for a motivated researcher with strong analytical skills and documented experience in studying protein structure and function. Practical experience in recombinant protein expression and a broad arsenal of protein biochemical methods are required. Excellent communication skills in both spoken and written English are expected. A PhD in biochemistry, molecular biology, or structural biology with relevant focus is required for eligibility.

About Us

A temporary position as a researcher in protein biochemistry is open at the Department of Molecular Sciences, SLU, Uppsala. The department consists of about 90 employees and, together with three other departments, forms an inspiring research environment at BioCentrum on the Ultuna campus in Uppsala. Here, there is expertise in chemistry and biotechnology, plant biology, mycology, plant pathology, microbiology, food science, computational genetics, as well as advanced infrastructure such as plant cultivation facilities, advanced microscopy, molecular biology, X-ray, and NMR. The department conducts research, teaching, and environmental monitoring in the fields of inorganic, physical, and organic chemistry, biochemistry, natural product chemistry, food science, and microbiology.
