Scientific Environment

In the role of researcher, you will contribute to excellent science in close collaboration with teachers, clinicians, and technicians at Uppsala University (www.uu.se (http://www.uu.se), https://shorturl.at/cgzJZ (https://shorturl.at/cgzJZ)) and the PET center of Uppsala University Hospital.

Job Responsibilities

In your role as a researcher, you will work independently on preclinical and/or clinical projects to develop, evaluate, and validate PET radiopharmaceuticals for molecular imaging of autoimmune and metabolic diseases, focusing on inflammatory and fibrotic processes.

The main tasks are to be responsible for various research projects while providing scientific support to other ongoing projects. You will be offered close mentorship from senior colleagues, as well as technical support from lab technicians, researchers, and students. You will be able to develop your own research projects and apply for research grants. You are encouraged to regularly present your research at scientific conferences and high-impact journals. You are expected to contribute to applications for preclinical or regulatory approvals for your projects. Your tasks will also include supervising PhD or M.Sc. students.

Your Qualifications

We welcome applications from candidates who hold a PhD in areas encompassing PET and imaging technology, including preclinical evaluation or clinical imaging studies. The assessment of applications is primarily based on the applicant's ability to conduct independent research based on documented scientific competence.

Completed courses in laboratory animal science and radiation protection are a requirement. The applicant must speak fluent English with excellent communication skills. Furthermore, it is advantageous if you have a thorough understanding of the mechanisms causing inflammation and fibrosis in autoimmune or metabolic diseases. Experience in participating in research projects related to PET imaging of autoimmune or metabolic diseases is meritorious.
