The Environmental and Building Unit is part of the Community Building Office. The Community Building Office also includes the Street and Waste Unit, the Park and Nature Unit, and the Planning and Geodata Unit.
The operation consists of eight environmental and health protection inspectors, one environmental administrator, four case officers/inspectors in the building permit group, one building administrator, and one housing adaptation officer.
We are now looking for a colleague in the health protection area.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We work closely together and take joint responsibility for the entire unit's areas of responsibility. You will work with a team that wants to develop the unit and supports each other while having fun at work. The tasks will vary based on needs and include supervision and processing of cases within your area of expertise. You will also provide support to colleagues and jointly develop new working methods.
As an inspector, you will have many contacts with residents and businesses in Knivsta Municipality. You will work both independently and in a group, which means you should enjoy collaborating with your colleagues as well as being able to drive your own projects with a service-oriented mindset.
In this role as an environmental and health protection inspector, the focus will be on supervising schools, preschools, care and nursing homes, multi-family houses, and other health protection activities such as hygienic operations and bathing water.
You will also handle complaints. The position includes drafting letters and decision-making documents and independently making decisions by delegation. As an inspector, you will represent the authority, even in various collaboration groups.
You contribute to fulfilling the unit's supervision plan to maintain the budget and conduct supervision to ensure compliance with legislation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Higher education in environmental and health protection or other equivalent education. You have good knowledge of environmental legislation. Previous experience in environmental and health protection supervision is an advantage.
You have a service-oriented mindset, are outgoing, and have the ability to create and maintain good relationships with others. You enjoy working in an organization where many different cases are handled simultaneously. The work requires you to plan and prioritize your tasks to achieve the common goal.
You can work independently but also enjoy working in a group. Your ability to create trust and confidence in your verbal and written communication is important. We will place great emphasis on personal qualities when filling the position.
We expect you to have good computer skills and preferably knowledge of digital case management systems; Castor is currently used in Knivsta.
The position requires a good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
A valid driver's license (B) is required.
