Our Operations
Do you want to become our colleague in the immunohistochemistry laboratory?
The Academic Laboratory is looking for someone who wants to work with immunohistochemistry within the section for clinical pathology. Clinical pathology is a field within medicine with a central role in, among other things, cancer diagnostics. We are located in our own building as part of the Rudbeck Laboratory and are organizationally part of the Academic Laboratory. Currently, about 120 people work within the section, of which approximately half are biomedical analysts (BMA). The work is carried out in close collaboration between BMA, pathologists (doctors), molecular biologists, nursing assistants, and other professional groups. Clinical pathology is facing intensive development in areas such as whole genome sequencing and digitization.
Your Mission
In the work within clinical pathology, the handling of both formalin-fixed and unfixed histological and cytological samples is included. This includes everything from registration, preparation, sectioning of paraffin-embedded tissue, staining, and mounting of preparations. Since the laboratory consists of several different processes, examinations are also performed on blood, bone marrow, cerebrospinal fluid, lymph nodes, and other lymphoid tissue. The clinic has a well-functioning immunohistochemistry laboratory where most of the staining is done mechanically. The laboratory is in an expansive accreditation phase. Participation in quality work, supervision, education, and development of the operations is also included in the tasks. The assignment is within clinical routine analyses.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is a licensed biomedical analyst. Practical experience and theoretical knowledge in pathology are meritorious, as well as experience in immunohistochemical work.
Your Competence
The work places high demands on accuracy, initiative, and independence. You will be part of a structure that is based on several processes with many involved, which places high demands on the ability to collaborate and flexibility. Great emphasis will be placed on experience and personal qualities. Good language skills, both spoken and written in Swedish, are a requirement.
We Offer
We offer a permanent full-time position. Working hours are scheduled on weekdays during the day. A probationary period may apply. Start date according to agreement. Interviews will be conducted continuously.
With us, you will receive benefits that make a difference, read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/).
