Department of Clinical Sciences

We are looking for a biomedical analyst or BMA student for the Clinical Chemistry Laboratory at the University Animal Hospital (UDS) for a summer temporary position. The Clinical Chemistry Laboratory works with veterinary diagnostics in clinical chemistry, endocrinology, hematology, and cytology. We primarily analyze clinical samples from sick animals, but also research samples. We have about 15 employees divided into BMAs, laboratory assistants, and veterinarians. Our work environment is characterized by commitment, joy, quality, and service.

About the job

The position involves laboratory work within medical clinical chemistry diagnostics, including approval of analysis results. In addition to regular analytical work, customer contacts and quality work are included. Working hours are scheduled for weekdays during the day.

Your background

We prefer that you are a licensed biomedical analyst or a BMA student in the later part of your education with experience and/or training in hematological, clinical chemical, or endocrinological laboratory diagnostics. You express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish and are a proficient computer user. You learn new tasks quickly and can work most of the summer, June-August 2026.

You are self-driven, meticulous, and quality-conscious, as well as a good team player who helps where needed. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

About us

The Department of Clinical Sciences is responsible for undergraduate education, research, and doctoral education in anesthesiology, imaging diagnostics, animal care, epidemiology, laboratory animal science, surgery, clinical chemistry, medicine, and reproduction. Our activities span all animal species.

At SLU University Animal Hospital (UDS), education, research, and advanced animal healthcare go hand in hand. We train tomorrow's veterinarians and veterinary nurses and provide first-class care to companion animals, competition animals, and production animals. We also disseminate knowledge to the public. By combining established knowledge with the latest research results, we develop the future of animal healthcare.

Under one roof, we offer healthcare for horses, dogs, cats, and other small animals. In addition to modern, purpose-built facilities, we have access to advanced imaging diagnostics and a veterinary specialist laboratory. UDS also includes an ambulatory clinic that goes out to stables and farms to examine and treat horses and livestock.
