Researcher in Theoretical Physics

The researcher position belongs to the Department of Theoretical Physics, one of the ten departments within the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Uppsala University. Our department offers an international working environment for leading research in quantum field theory, gravitation, string theory, and related areas of mathematical physics. The department currently consists of about 30 research-active members. The researcher position is part of a project funded by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation.

Job Responsibilities

The applicant is expected to conduct research in theoretical physics related to quantum field theory and gravitation theory. Research areas of particular interest include scattering amplitudes and gravitational waves.

Qualifications

PhD in theoretical physics or a foreign degree equivalent to a PhD in theoretical physics. The degree must be obtained by the time of employment decision.

Desirable/meritorious

Particularly meritorious is previous experience with advanced level research in the subject of scattering amplitudes where the application is gravitational waves.

About the Employment

The employment is temporary, for 6 months. The position is full-time. Start date: March 1 or by agreement.
